Autocall & Simplex Fire Alarm Programmer/Technician

Allpoints Fire Protection is growing!  We are currently looking for an experienced fire alarm technician to join our team.  Allpoints Fire Protection services all facets of the fire protection industry including fire alarm systems, sprinkler systems, portable fire extinguishers and suppression systems.

We are looking for experienced Autocall & Simplex programmers to service our customers in various areas throughout British Columbia.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform fire protection inspections, verifications and preventative maintenance services on fire alarm systems
  • Program and configure new & existing fire alarm systems
  • Troubleshoot, evaluate and diagnose systems and perform necessary repairs
  • Read and interpret submittals, diagrams, blueprints, specifications, software systems, schematics and product manuals
  • Provide efficient and cost effective solutions to return customers equipment to working condition
  • Complete and submit all task related documentation in a timely manner
  • Complete necessary equipment/task related training and certification
  • Provide high level of customer service
  • Travel for work/After hours work (as required)

Recommended Qualifications

  • 3-5 years documented experience
  • Completion of CFAA (Canadian Fire Alarm Association) certificate, ASTT BC, Red Seal Electrical Ticket or applicable College degree/diploma preferred
  • Experience programming fire alarm panels (preferably Autocall, Simplex and Kidde/Vigilant) is desirable
  • Electrical/Electronic background preferred
  • Knowledgeable of applicable provincial building, fire, ULC and NFPA codes
  • Ability to train less experienced technicians and customers
  • Ability to lift equipment and tools up to 40lbs and climb ladders and scaffolding
  • Possess valid driver’s license

Red Seal Sprinkler Fitter

Allpoints Fire Protection is growing!  We are currently looking for an experienced Red Seal Sprinkler Fitter to join our team.  Allpoints Fire Protection services all facets of the fire protection industry including fire alarm systems, sprinkler systems, portable fire extinguishers and suppression systems.

We are looking for experienced Red Seal Sprinkler Fitter to service our customers in various areas throughout British Columbia.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Work includes installation, inspection and repair of fire protection and fire sprinkler systems.
  • Provide motivation, guidance and leadership to all employees and contractors.
  • Manage materials to ensure timely completion of the work scheduled. Ensures material consumption does not exceed estimate.
  • Maintain a collaborative relationship with our customers that ensures we exceed customer expectations.
  • Improve timeliness and quality of field performance.
  • Have working knowledge of NFPA Standards and building codes.
  • Completes all forms, revisions, requests for tools/equipment/material that are required for each project.
  • Ability to deal with difficult situations with tact and diplomacy (customer and employee related).

Qualifications and Job Skills:

  • 5+ years commercial experience with sprinkler piping mains and standpipes.
  • Operate power machines such as core drill, groover, pipe cutter and pipe threader.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work out of town, approximately 50% travel.

Special Requirements:

  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Red Seal Journeyman Sprinkler Fitter Ticket
  • Ability to obtain security clearances, site orientations, and drug & alcohol testing
  • Ability to lift equipment and tools up to 75lbs and climb ladders and scaffolding
  • Standard hand tools
